Meet Roy & the team

Native voices.
Real connections.

I’m Roy, a native Arabic speaker from Damascus, based in Brazil. I bring more than 13 years of English-teaching experience to helping English speakers explore spoken Syrian Arabic.

Together with our team of native Arabic teachers, we focus on the language of daily life: what to say, how it sounds and when to use it. Choose Syrian, Palestinian, Jordanian, Egyptian or Lebanese Arabic. Start with transliteration alongside Arabic, so you don’t need to read the alphabet to begin.

Your first mini lesson

A little Arabic.
A good beginning.

Pick a phrase. Read it out loud. You’ve already taken your first step.

These are spoken Syrian Arabic examples. English spellings are pronunciation guides, not exact sound matches.

مرحبا
Marhaba

Hello — a friendly way to start a conversation.

Good questions

Before we say marhaba.

Do I need to know any Arabic?

No. You can start as a complete beginner. Lessons can use English explanations and transliteration alongside Arabic.

Will I learn formal Arabic or a dialect?

Choose Syrian, Palestinian, Jordanian or Lebanese Arabic from the Levantine dialect family, or Egyptian Arabic. Our focus is spoken dialects rather than Modern Standard Arabic, which is used in formal writing and news.

Can I join from the US, Canada or Europe?
